Did you know that Americans spend millions of dollars every year on teeth whitening? Fortunately, as you probably know, there are a few things you can do to keep your teeth healthy and bright. Conversely, there are a few things that can stain your teeth—including a number of drinks.

Sadly, drinking too many sweet drinks can actually hurt your teeth and damage your enamel. Specifically, sodas can cause a number of serious issues because they’re high in sugar. This sugar may become acidic in your mouth and over time wear down your enamel.

Coffee may also stain your teeth, though mixing some milk into your coffee may help. Tea’s can stain your teeth because of the tannin inside of them. Red wines could stain your smile as well. If you’re still interested in drinking wine, but want to keep your teeth bright, please consider switching to white wines.

In other words, you may be able to keep your teeth brighter by simply avoiding these drinks. If that isn’t something you want to do, you can also drink water after any of these beverages to rinse out your mouth.
